Lost Wax Casting

Tutor: Leigh Carbines

Lost wax casting is an ancient jewellery making craft that dates back thousands of years.  It involves shaped wax invested (clothed or surrounded) in investment plaster. The wax is then melted and replaced with a metal. The material cast can be a gold, silver or combination of alloys.  It is a one off process, unless moulds are made of the final product/piece of jewellery.  This course required working with open flame metho burner.
